A Goddess Yoga Retreat Reflection

If you’ve ever wondered what to expect in one of my Goddess Yoga Retreat experiences or classes, this is the place to start. Yes, there will be yoga. But more than that — there will be intention, transformation, movement as ritual, and deep connection to the divine feminine within. Whether we’re flowing under the trees, pulling tarot cards, or dancing barefoot under the stars, this practice is a journey back to self.
Let’s break it down.
What is Goddess Yoga?
Goddess Yoga isn’t just a style — it’s a sacred approach. At its heart, it blends traditional asana with spiritual practice, emotional embodiment, and the invitation to connect with divine feminine energy. It’s not about perfect poses. It’s about presence, permission, and power.
At my retreats, Goddess Yoga is a journey inward. We move, breathe, and listen — not only to our bodies, but to the whispers of our intuition, the rhythm of nature, and the ancient archetypes that live within us. This isn’t your average vinyasa class.
The Elemental Path

The Goddess path follows the elements — Earth, Air, Fire, and Water — as mirrors for our inner landscape. Each day of retreat aligns with one of these energies:
- Earth grounds us in the body.
- Air connects us to breath and mind.
- Fire ignites sensuality, passion, and power.
- Water invites softness, emotion, and release.
In our classes, rituals, and circles, these elements guide the energy of the day. It’s a fluid, feminine way to move through transformation.
Yoga as Ritual, Not Just a Workout
While there is strength and sweat in what we do, Goddess Yoga is also ceremonial. We open each class with intention, card pulls, or breathwork. Sometimes, we close with sound healing, guided meditation, or journaling prompts under candlelight.
I weave in tarot, energetic themes, and sacred music to remind us that movement can be prayer. Your mat becomes an altar. Your breath, a spell.
Awakening the Inner Goddess
This work isn’t about becoming someone new — it’s about remembering who you are underneath the noise.
We use dance-inspired movement, guided by music and emotion, to invite self-expression and embodied freedom. Think hips, spirals, softness, fire — the kind of movement that doesn’t need a mirror or a count. The kind that feels like home.
Closing Invitation
This August 11–16, 2025, we’ll gather for our next Goddess Yoga Retreat in the enchanted hills of Lago d’Orta, Italy. Picture this: sunrise meditations over the lake, elemental rituals in ancient chapels, tarot salons under the stars, and powerful women dancing barefoot in the garden. You’ll stay in a serene former monastery overlooking the water, eat fresh local food, and reconnect to yourself in a way that’s both wild and grounded.
If you’re ready to awaken your inner goddess — body, mind, and spirit — I’d love to welcome you into the circle.

About Vanessa

I’m Vanessa — founder of Goddess Yoga and Goddess Yoga Retreats. I’m a former professional ballet dancer with the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, a classically trained singer and musician, and a 500-hour certified yoga teacher. These days, I’m also the manager of the beautiful John Reed Gym at Schwedenplatz in Vienna, where I bring fitness, artistry, and feminine energy into one creative space.
My journey into the world of ritual, movement, and spiritual practice began from a place of deep personal trauma. Developing the Goddess Embodiment Method helped me rebuild my life — not just to heal, but to rise. This work gave me back my voice, my strength, and my joy — and now I share it with other women through yoga, tarot, dance, and community.
These retreats are for all women — whether you’re seeking healing, connection, inspiration, or simply a beautiful, unforgettable week in nature. We create a circle of sisterhood: a safe, vibrant space to grow, laugh, be witnessed, and celebrate your inner goddess. Our days are grounded in daily practices, cultural adventures, elemental rituals, and meaningful friendships.
Come as you are — to awaken, to shine, and to remember how powerful you truly are.
Love & Light,
Vanessa
